We previously gave you a heads-up on what could be the features of Sony PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.20. Now, a new report ups the ante by revealing yet another cool feature.

PC World recently revealed that PS3 FW 2.20 will support "Portable Copy". Essentially, it strengthens the bond of Sony's console with its handheld counterpart, the PlayStation Portable, by allowing movie sharing.

Portable Copy lets users create standard-definition versions of Blu-ray movies and transfers them to the PSP.

This goes with other enhancements that BD-Live, otherwise known as Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0, will bring.

Just the other day, I showed you guys a really crummy PS3 knock-off, but I think this videogaming oddity surely trumps that one. This strange little console can’t decide whether it wants to be an Xbox, a PlayStation 2, 3, or something else altogether. Heck, it even has those classic 9-pin controller ports you’d find on an Atari 2600 or Commodore Vic-20.

Made by Hong Kong’s Cheer-Tech Industries, the weird console incorporates visual elements from several modern consoles, but avoids the copyright police by tweaking things just enough that the design is unrecognizable (albeit totally derivative).

All I can say about the PX-3600 is that it probably won’t play games from any recent console, at best it might play some bootleg NES/Famicom titles, but I’m not even sure that it’ll do that well given the looks of this thing. In addition to playing a handful of built-in games, the console comes with two controllers, one with rumble, and the other that without. How odd.

The good news is that you can only buy these wholesale lots of 1000 or more, and I don’t think you’ll have to worry about finding these down at the local Wal-Mart any time soon.

I don’t know what it is about the PlayStation 3, but there are very few people out there who’ve dared to attempt any sort of casemodding for the shiny black console. So I was tickled when I came across this PS3 mod which cleverly integrates the curvaceous lines of Sony’s latest gaming system.

Inspired by the game Rainbow Six Vegas, the console is disguised as a casino tower in the midst of the Vegas Strip. If you squint really hard, it’s reminiscent of the design of the Wynn.

Illuminated with bright colorful LEDs, the PS3 serves as the backdrop for the Strip, which includes a tiny Eiffel Tower (Paris), a Pyramid (Luxor), little tiny people, and even a light up S.W.A.T. van to get you in the Rainbow Six mood.

Built by German casemodder Butterkneter, the Vegas PS3 was built for a special UbiSoft promotion.

UTIII is one of the few console games out there that really lets gamers create their own unique maps. I don’t mean just moving a few things around like you can with Halo 3’s Forge mode. Nope, with the right tools, you can make your own completely custom environment, letting your imagination run wild. Take, for example, this great LEGO map that the guys over at PS3Fanboy found.

Created by Unreal Tournament 3 mod-man Lord Simeon, the map features a totally destructible LEGO block environment. The map features about 20 types of LEGO blocks (including those little yellow dudes), built into structures you can blow to smithereens, thanks to the game’s excellent physics model. 

Remember when you were a kid and you’d build some awesome LEGO creation, then smash it into pieces? That’s what it reminds me of. You can grab the entire mod, packaged up for US or European consoles here.

Drooling over the forthcoming satin silver Playstation 3? Thought you had to live in Japan to enjoy its non-thumbprinty matte finish? Well not if reseller Play-Asia has anything to say about it.

The video game importer is now taking orders for the luscious silver PS3, and the price isn’t much higher than you’d pay for a standard model. The retailer expects to start shipping the new color on March 6th, for $429 USD, a $30 premium over what you’d typically spend for a stock black PS3 here in the states.

Of course, it’s a Japanese PS3, so the default menus are in Japanese (which you should be able to change), and the manual isn’t in English, either. Thankfully, the console does run on standard 110v power, and PS3 games aren’t region-locked, so you should be okay.
